PRAGUE RESTAURANTS: Ada Restaurant

A gently winding road leads up to this cosy Little Quarter restaurant. A commanding position, nestled, in a luscious hill-side. Add to this the historic surroundings and cobble-stoned streets and you have a quintessential, romantic Prague setting. The open-plan dining area, enveloped in a warm, maroon glow, overlooks a charming garden. The windows offer views down to the Little Quarter and Castle grounds.
The series of gold-framed, caricatures embellishing the walls reveal the names of such famous celebrity artists and writers as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and James Joyce. All of whom were close friends of the famous Czech artist Adolf Hoffmeister. His charming penmanship lends a particular sophistication to the luxurious surroundings.
The Czech-International, fine-dining menu features dishes which, following the latest global trends, are prepared using a combination of, cutting-edge techniques, laboratory precision and quality ingredients to create highly distinct tastes.

Cold Appetizers: Smoked duck liver foie gras, red beetroot jelly, Granny Smith apple and horseradish ice-cream (490Kc). Tiger prawns ‘mi-cuit’ with fennel salad and Tropea onion, served in vodka marinated cherry tomatoes and tarragon mayonnaise (490Kc).

Hot Appetizers: Game consomme with partridge eggs and Madeira wine (120Kc). St. Jacob’s scallop on a cauliflower puree gratinated with sauce hollandaise, garnished with white and black ca viar (490Kc).

Fish: Savoury fish soup with vegetables, tomatoes and saffron aioli (490Kc). Roasted sea bass prepared in herb crust and mussels minestrone (790Kc).

Meat: Beef entrecote, gratinated potatoes served with mushrooms, seasonal vegetables and wine sauce (720Kc). Roasted venison saddle, chestnut ‘spatzle’ with dry apricot and plum terrine and bitter chocolate sauce (720Kc).

Dessert: Chilled white chocolate – yogurt soup, cocoa crumble, whiskey and caramel ice-cream (220Kc).
