Visitors to the 2008 Collins Stewart London Boat Show, which takes place from 11-20 January 2008, are spoilt for choice with things to do, see and hear throughout the Show. Now in its 54th year, the Show promises to offer something for everyone and will welcome some 140,000 people.London Art Fair (11-20 January) once again launches the art world year in the UK.
Celebrating its twentieth year, you will find over one-hundred galleries at this year’s Fair showing exceptional work from Modern British artists and international contemporary talent.
In its fourth year, the Art Projects section showcases work from 20 galleries from the UK, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands, each presenting curated displays. You’ll find contemporary painting and drawing, large scale sculpture and installation, photography and video.
Charles I Commemoration will start 27 January 2008. The laying of wreaths outside the Banqueting House in January each year marks the death of Charles I. Come and reflect on the beheading of this sybaritic king in 1649, an act leading up to the English Civil War. Muse on the tragic event or, alternatively, smirk and think Republican thoughts.
A ceremonial parade, organised by and featuring The English Civil War Society dressed in 17th-century attire, starts from St James’s Palace at 11.30am, and goes to Banqueting House via The Mall, Horse Guards Parade and Horse Guards Avenue.
2008 MCN Babe of the Year competition will start 31 January 2008. The 2008 babe competition is always a popular attraction at the MCN London Motorcycle Show. Come and check out the MCN babe hopefuls. A bevy of beauties will be competing over the four days on the MCNLive! Stage to be crowned ‘Babe of the year’.
All the girls will go through a rigorous selection process, and the final will be judged on Sunday 3rd February.
