Power Plant of Hampton Roads Attractions
Hampton’s new entertainment district, the Power Plant of Hampton Roads, have visitors buzzing. Located within a leisurely drive, or an easy stroll, of many Hampton hotels, visitors to the Power Plant discover retail and restaurant names synonymous with fun. Enjoy the wide, clean beach and gentle surf of this Chesapeake Bay beach. Playground. Lifeguards on duty during the summer season. Umbrellas and watercraft available for rent. Picnic shelters available for a fee. The park pavilion is the site of big band concerts on Sunday evenings and an outdoor movie series on Tuesday evenings during the summer. Year-round environmental programs and interpretation available.
Open year-round daily. Summer season runs Memorial Day through Labor Dav. Free admission.
GRANDVIEW NATURE PRESERVE
Entrance at the Intersection of Beach Road and State Park Drive

This 578-acre preserve and estuary on the Chesapeake Bay is ideal for observing wildlife, kayaking, hiking and fishing. The preserve includes a 2 1/2-mile stretch of tranquil bay-front beach. Year-round environmental programs and interpretation available.
Open year-round: daily. Free admission.

Go where the fish are with Captain Howard Wainwright and his crew aboard the 65-foot, 73-passenger headboat, the Ocean Eagle. Bait and tackle are provided.
