San Diego with kids

San Diego is a great place to visit with teens! There are SeaWorld and a great zoo in San Diego where you can go to with kids and certainly not be bored.
SeaWorld has rides, animal shows and “attractions” like the the shark encounter, penguin encounter, forbidden reef, etc. The displays are well done, but it costs an arm and a leg to get in, even with discounts. The Birch Aquarium in La Jolla is smaller:no rides, shows, or big marine mammals; but it’s really quite nice, and a lot cheaper. The best aquarium in SoCal is in Long Beach.

Monte Carlo trip

For anyone planning a trip, Monte Carlo is one of these places that’s good to go for the sake of the people-watching, the glitz, glamour, boats and sports cars, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that it’s very pretty or beautiful. I’ve never seen so many well-dressed, gorgeous folks cruising around in their Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghini’s, Bentley, SLs, Z4s etc.
Don’t bother with the Grand Casino. We were very unimpressed with it all. The lobby was free to get in and we wandered around that a little and saw the Dali exhibit there. Kind of interesting. If you are looking for reasonable accommodations stay in Nice. It’s just about 13 minutes away by trains. The trains run regularly, about every half hour. If you stay in Nice close to the train you will be further from the beach but located great for train trips.

London for teenagers

If you are staying in London with teens, there are good places to visit, but a lot of depends on your teens’ tastes.

Go to the Tower of London and take the Beefeater tour (yeoman warders are what they’re called). Try to go first thing in morning before the crowds.
Take them to Camden Market for shopping. Other shops they’ll like are Top Shop and H&M. The London Eye is fun.Consider a day trip outside London also. London Walks has a lot of interesting walks and some day trips. A lot of people like the Jack the Ripper Walk.

What to see in Paris

Visit Eiffel Tower, Champ De Mars, Palais Chaillot, Pont Bir Hakeim. These are all in the west of the city and suitable for a day out. To go up the Eiffel Tower – you should get there very very early – the queues start at 8:30 even though it doesn’t open till 9am. If you are waiting in a queue it will take a long time to get both up and down the tower. After covering this area then a walk along the Seine River toward Le Grand and Petit Palais provides some nice views. If you don’t walk along the river then you can walk across to Invalides (Napoleons tomb) which is quite nice.

The Louvre, Jardin De Tuilleries, Place Vendome, Jardin Du Palais Royal – “must see” places. You can also tie this in with a trip to the Musee D’Orsee. If you like walking – you can walk up the Champs Elysee to the Arc De Triomphe it’s about 2Km.

Ile De La Cite, Il Saint Louis is the heart of Paris and where most of the picturesque opportunities lie. Saint Chapelle is famous for its stained glass – can be combined with the Concierge, last resting place of the condemned before the guillotine. You also have Notre Dame. Crossing to the left bank – it’s the south side of the river – you can visit Odeon/Mabillion, where the Parisians hang out in the evening, and if you are desperate for home coffee there is a Starbucks. Also close in this area is the Saint Sulpice, mentioned in the Da Vinci Code.

Le Marais is lively on Sundays and is also one of the oldest sections of the city. In this area there is a good selection of very good restaurants and bars. Also, the Pompidou centre, Musee Carnivalet (Paris Museum), Place De Voges.

Traveling with children to Monaco

Some attractions I think your kids would love – there is a museum called the Oceanographic Museum which has a huge 2 floors full of aquariums – there are sharks, massive fish, jelly fish. It’s mentioned. The zoo is really good. You will find this not far from the Princes Palace.

Also there is a zoo ‘Jardin Animaliar’ is pretty good also. That is on the other side of the harbor.

Trip To Amsterdam

Amsterdam is a very safe city, provided you keep a sharp lookout for bicycles which appear to have right of way everywhere. Avoid the red light district south of the Oude Kerk unless you are very broad minded.
Buses and trams are excellent for moving round. Buy a strippenkaarten from a tobacconists or from the office in front of Centraal Station.
The Canal Boat Tours are useful with a multilingual commentary and glass tops to the boats so you get excellent views of the fine houses lining the canals. There are several starting points – your Hotel will be able to tell you the nearest.

Trip To Berlin

To get an overview of Berlin sights you could do a walking tour. Brewers, Insider or Berlin Walks are just some of the companies who offer a tour.
If the weather is nice you could do boat trip which is nice way to spend a few relaxing hours plus you do see a few sights.

Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, Reichstag building (go early or late to avoid queues & it’s free!) are easily done on one day together with a river trip which is surprisingly good – the one-hour one is cheap and probably enough for a flavor.

Paris museums for kids

Don’t be afraid to go to the Musee du Louvre with kids. I think it could be interesting, even for them: there is a medieval castle in the basement, king apartments furnished, crown jewelery, Egyptian sarcophagus… Most kids will love to see “real mummies” in the Egyptian section, and go downstairs to the Medieval Louvre, where they can see the old walls exposed. Napoleons apartments are neat also, chandlers the size of small cars, how the rich and or royal lived.
