Myrtle Beach is mostly a family beach destination. There are a few good nightclubs for people your age (some age 18+), but the beaches and most other areas are mainly families, and middle aged golfers.
Many hotels and resorts in Myrtle Beach are efficiencies or suites, and are now at great rates. The weather can be iffy but mostly 60’s-mid 70’s. Be prepared for anything. There are a number of nice oceanfront resorts that have heated pools if you’d like to enjoy the water. The ocean, at least for me is now too cool. There’s tons to do do there: shopping, great shows, golf, fishing, plus just relaxing and walking on the beach.
The best way to stay and play in Myrtle Beach is to purchase a golf package. There are a number of companies that sell tee times and accommodations at a discounted rate. It’s really the only way to go. Plus, they are experts on the area and can help you plan a great trip.
The Sea Captain’s House is the only place I’ve found that consistently serves excellent seafood in the downtown Myrtle Beach area. Most seafood restaurants in the MB area do too much volume to go a good job. Buffets are the worst quality, most of them in Myrtle beach do for a small extra price but they are not king crab legs, they are the small cluster crab legs.
Also you can buy fresh seafood, shrimp, etc. right off the docks in both Calabash, NC, (just north of MB right beyond the stateline) and Murrell’s Inlet, SC. (south of Myrtle Beach toward Pawley’s Island).
Good seafood restaurants in nearby Calasbash, NC (20-30 minutes north of downtown MB) or Murrell’s Inlet (20-30 minutes south of downtown MB) They are both wonderful little fishing villages with small family owned restaurants that have been operating for generations.
