As for weekend vacation accommodation in Quebec we’ve chosen Courtyard By Marriott.  Hotel is amazing. Useful parking is right across the street. An entrance into the walled section is right next door. The staff is happy and helpful. The rooms and public areas are clean and roomy. The rate is much less then other hotels within the wall or right nearby. The location is great, right outside the Old City Wall. A quick walk to tons of sites to see, shops, and restaurants.
Where to go in Quebec City
Kids were happy about visiting Museum of Civilization, that documents various forms of human civilization, with a focus on life in early Quebec. The Museum itself is fairly big, so be ready to spent 2-3 hours there. It doesn’t cost all that much so its worth the visit. There’s lots of artifacts from the time of New-France. There’s also a rather interesting timeline of Quebec, and lots of informative videos in both French and English. There is an exhibit just on sand for some reason. It is rather interesting since they had sand from all over the world. Its really neat to see all the different colors. They have a special hall for traveling exhibits.
