Karlovy Vary, 130 km west of Prague, is the largest spa town in the Czech Republic. The world-famous spa resort, which this year is celebrating its 650th anniversary, is visited every year by thousands of guest from more than 80 countries worldwide.
The world-renowned healing springs are not, however, the only allurement for patients and tourists. The rich history dating back to the time of Charles IV, beautiful architecture, colonnaded walkways all serve to create the singular atmosphere of one of the most frequently visited cities in our country. Yet the guests are enchanted not only by the city itself but also its lovely surroundings. On the neighbouring hills there are plenty of gazebos and view-towers, and in the local spa woods a number of arbours that serve as ideal spots for relaxation and repose. Those who like spending their free time  actively won’t be disappointed either.

Karlovy Vary boasts a host of sports grounds, fitness centres and tennis courts, as well as the possibility of horse riding or playing golf on courses that are among themost beautiful the Czech Republic has to offer and whose quality will certainly be appreciated by even the most demanding of guests.
