The Czech Republic‘s first ‘konoba’ restaurant has made it’s home in the Little Quarter. For those wondering what a ‘konoba’ is – it is a traditional, Croatian restaurant which can typically be found by the sea, serving seafood dishes.
The poignant interior of this establishment resonates with childhood memories of the sea and family life. A colourful painting of a fisherman’s port embellishes one wall, while a curious ‘still life’ consisting of grandmas sewing machine, table, chairs and a lampshade hang upside down, precariously from the ceiling in the main dining room. The soulful Balkan music drifts through the air as you dine – adding to the romantic ambience. During the summer the outside, street-side seating, among a series of potted sunflower plants, is refreshingly satisfying.
The menu excels in tasty, fresh salads (with orange, fig and dates), stuffed grilled vegetables and seafood dishes. Whatever you order don’t forget to leave room for the excellent Baklava dessert!
