PRAGUE RESTAURANTS: Casanova

You can’t get any closer to Charles Bridge than this – you are practically on the bridge! Dine here and you can admire its’ majesty throughout your meal. This family-run, Italian restaurant does away with all pretensions and welcomes you with open arms as they would a friend of the family. The somewhat dubious decor, large flat-screen tv -often with Italian football – gives the feel of dining at someone’s home.
But they take their food very seriously. All the main ingredients are authentic Italian and the fish and seafood is tantalisingly fresh – needing nothing more than a pinch of salt before it is put on the grill. It is then served with a few lemon slices or a light tomato sauce. The home-made pasta also deserves a special mention. Try the delicious spaghetti with the large scampi. Whatever you choose you can be sure that the owners will have given it their all. For they stake their reputation on each dish.
