PRAGUE RESTAURANTS: La Provence

This French establishment, a stone’s throw from the Old Town Square, offers guests a choice of dining settings – a Parisian Brasserie on the ground floor and a rustic Provencal restaurant downstairs.
Choose the Brasserie and you will be transported back in time. With large windows which open to the street in the summer, ornate, hand-painted, glass, wrought-iron, floral motifs, mirrored walls and wooden paneling, all evoking the elated spirit of, turn-of-the-century, Paris. A time of great excitement, a flourishing of the arts and culture. The menu offers traditional French classics with the signature, light and simple touch, of Brasserie cooking. Served alongside excellent French wines from the well-stocked, choice, wine cellar.
On the other hand the candle-lit, vaulted, Provencal, cellar, with it’s terracotta tiles and rustic tones, is a more subdued affair. Recalling the aesthetics of the French, country kitchen with it’s no-nonsense, natural, cooking.
